Why these markets
Two of California's largest residual waste sheds.
Both markets generate substantial residual waste streams and face long-term pressure around landfill capacity, environmental performance and disposal infrastructure. In Los Angeles, Sunshine Canyon currently receives roughly 8,300 tons of municipal solid waste per day—about one-third of Los Angeles County's daily waste—and is estimated to close by 2037.
KRYONITE POWER is evaluating sites where residual waste can be converted into reliable local power and recovered materials—complementing recycling and organics diversion rather than competing with them.
